Crochet Sausage dog pattern

It is year of the dog this year and as such i wanted to create a cute dachshund for a friend of mine who is having a baby soon. Below is my written pattern. Please give credit where credit is due and if you use my pattern attach my website as the author.

Supplies
Size 4mm Crochet hook
Hobby fill stuffing
Sewing needle
Pins (optional: I use pins to help map out where I place the legs ears etc)
8ply yarn – I used three colours; Green, Grey and Cream. When using different colours just substitute my colours labels for yours eg. use Pink every time I say Green

Abbreviations:
mc – magic circle
sc – single crochet
sc2tog – single crochet 2 stitches together
blo – crochet in the back loops only

Notes:
– If you need help with changing colours in the round refer to my tutorial in the how to section of this website
– I assemble as I go and therefore the components of the dog are written down in the order it should be completed in. The way I have done it is the way I find easiest. However if you want to sew the ears & eyes at the end then crochet in any order
– Please use artistic license!
– I love when someone shows me work they have done off my patterns. Please tag me at @helloseattle.crochet on Instagram or email me helloseattlecrochet@outlook.com. Furthermore if you need any help or notice an error please contact me on one of these handles.

I would stop here and do two things
– sew on the ears at rows 16 – 20 approximately ten stitches apart. You can leave this until the end but I find sewing them in now makes my ends more secure.

– sew on the eye that goes straight onto the head (not onto the eyepatch) just right of the ear across rows 11 – 14. Now sew on the eye patch parallel to the other eye.

Now continue and finish off the head stuffing as you go
R21:
[1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches, sc2tog] 6 times (18)
R22: [1 sc in each of the next 1 stitches, sc2tog] 6 times (12)
R23: [sc2tog] 6 times (6)
Fasten off and leave tail for sewing

R7 – 10: Sc in each stitch around (36)
R11 – 14: Change to Green and Sc in each stitch around (36)
R15 – 19: Change to Grey and Sc in each stitch around (36)

R23 – 26: Change to Grey and Sc in each stitch around (36)
R27: Change to Cream Sc in each stitch around (36)
R28 – 30: Change to Green Sc in each stitch around (36)
R31 – 34: Change to Cream and Sc in each stitch around (36)
Now is a good time to stitch in the crosses and dashes if you please.

x
< Crosses:
Stitched across rows 15 – 19 in cream. The crosses spand across 3 stitches in both height and width and are separated by one stitch.

dash
< Dashes:

The dashes are stitched in row 23 – 26 and are stitched across
three stitches in between rows 24 and 25 so they are centred.
There is one stitch in between dashes.

Now continue and finish off the body stuffing as you go
R35:
[1 sc in each of the next 4 stitches, sc2tog] 6 times (30)
R36:
[1 sc in each of the next 3 stitches, sc2tog] 6 times (24)
R37: [1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches, sc2tog] 6 times (18)
R38: [1 sc in each of the next 1 stitches, sc2tog] 6 times (12)
R39: [sc2tog] 6 times (6)
Fasten off and sew in tail. Afterwards sew the head onto the body.
